Few steps to hair care

In our day to day life we visit a number of people, and it is often seen that our eyes stuck on the hair of some passe-by and we desire that type of hair. This is a most common phenomenon.Another similar fact is that we all feel a longing to have the hair style or the look of some models on the television screen, and we immediately indulge ourselves in getting that style for ourselves. But apart from this the fact is that we have very little concern in indulging into taking proper care for our hair. We all dream of having a great and gorgeous hair style, and often we invest a lot of time and money for achieving that. But in reality we do very little things for taking proper care for our hair. Even if we are concerned about this it is often noticed that in our deliberate attempt we often result in virtually damaging our hair just because of our lack of proper knowledge of the right methods of taking care of our hair. The first step of taking care our hair is to understand the basic structure of our hair. First of all our hair grows from follicles within the skin. The part of the hair inside the follicle (or below our scalp) is called hair root, and the outer part which can be seen is the hair shaft. The most important ingredient of our hair is a special type protein called keratin and is made of long chains of amino-acids. The growth of our hair is totally dependent on our dietary intake.With the rest of our body our hair also needs proper nutrition. The hair gets its nutrition from its root. Thus the scalp plays a vital role in supplying necessary nutrition for hair. Thus a healthy environment below the surface of the scalp is essential while maintaining the health of our hair. Our diet should consist of a good balance of easily digested protein, i.e. - dairy products, poultry and meat. The low carbohydrate and high protein diets are essential for hair growth.Drinking a lot of water everyday not only hydrates our body but also keeps our hair silky and shiny. Deficiency of vitamins can cause hair loss as well too much intake of some vitamins may also have adverse effects. So we should have sufficient amount of fruits and leafy vegitables in our diet chart to provide proper nourishment to our hair. Thus it needs a rich but rightly balanced diet for the proper health of our hair. But it is evident that though we maintain a properly balanced diet still its really hard to protect our hair from external environmental or chemical damage as we live in a highly polluted world. In that case we need external protection for our hair. First of all we should keep our hair clean by shampooing every alternative day. But there remains a problem too as shampooing every day may cause roughening of hair. In that case we should take some other preventive measures too. Our hair needs proper conditioning. Applying coconut oil on the hair helps in hair growth but as the outer environment is polluted, the dust particles stick to our hair. So we should apply coconut oil and need proper shampooing and conditioning every alternative day. Thus keeping a regular watch is necessary every day for the perfect care of our hair.
